Education, not health care
Selora Yoga classes, programs and articles are general education about yoga, Pilates, breathing, relaxation and everyday wellbeing habits. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, nutrition therapy or a treatment for any condition, and they do not replace a doctor, a physiotherapist, a psychologist, a dietitian or any other health professional. They are written for a general adult audience and cannot take your individual health, history or circumstances into account.
Nobody at Selora Yoga assesses you, watches you practise or gives individual advice, and buying a class does not create a relationship with a health professional.
Ask your doctor before you start if
- you are pregnant, may be pregnant, or gave birth in the last few months;
- you have had recent surgery, a recent injury or a joint replacement;
- you have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or have ever fainted during exercise;
- you have osteoporosis, a hernia, glaucoma or a back or neck problem;
- you have epilepsy, asthma or another breathing condition (especially before breathwork and sound practices);
- you have diabetes or any condition a doctor is treating, or you take medication that affects balance or blood pressure;
- you are recovering from a mental health condition or an eating disorder (especially before the programs).
Stop immediately if you feel
- sharp, pinching, burning or shooting pain, or pain in a joint;
- dizziness, light-headedness, tingling, blurred vision or nausea;
- chest pain or pressure, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or unusual shortness of breath;
- panic or distress during a breathing or relaxation practice.
Sit or lie down, breathe normally, and seek medical help if the symptom does not pass quickly. Emergencies: call your local emergency number (112 in Portugal and the European Union). In Portugal you can also call the SNS 24 health line on 808 24 24 24.
Breathing and sound practices
- Never practise breathing exercises while driving, in water, or anywhere a loss of attention could hurt you.
- Our breathing practices avoid hyperventilation and long breath holds. Breathe comfortably and never force.
- Keep any music or sound at a comfortable volume. Sound practices are for relaxation; they do not treat or cure anything.
Wellbeing programs
The programs include self-help skills for stress, attention and emotional balance, and everyday eating and sleep habits based on public health guidance. They are not therapy, not a diet and not a treatment for anxiety, depression, insomnia, an eating disorder or any other condition. If you feel unable to cope, or have thoughts of harming yourself, contact a doctor straight away or call 112. In Portugal, SNS 24 (808 24 24 24) offers a psychological counselling option.
No promised results
We do not promise flexibility, strength, weight loss, pain relief, better sleep, less stress or any other result. Bodies differ, and progress depends on many factors outside our control. The photographs on this website show models and do not show the results of any class.
Your responsibility
You decide whether, how and where to practise. Use a safe space with a non-slip surface, use the easier options, and listen to your body. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for injury or loss resulting from the way you use the material. Nothing in this notice limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or the mandatory rights of consumers.

Write to support@selorayoga.com if you want to know exactly what a class covers before you buy. We cannot give advice about your own health, injuries or pregnancy.
